Lawyer and social activist, former parliamentary advisor for Knesset Member Yitzchak Herzog.
Born in Ethiopia, immigrated to Israel with her family at the age three. In the framework of her IDF service, she served as a medic in the Israeli Medical Corps. She began her academic studies at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya, where she earned a B.A. in law and business administration. She then earned an M.A. in Public Policy from Hebrew University in the framework of its Executives Program to train senior managers.
Shlomit hosts the television show “Sha’at Sheirut”, which is broadcasted on the “Hahalalit” internet channel. During the show, she speaks with a variety of guests about current events that interest the public. For many years, she has dedicated a large amount of her time to volunteering at various social organizations. She is an active member of “Hamerchav” – a framework of leaders and activists from social organizations interested in influencing the future of the Ethiopian Israeli community. She was also on the Ministry of Justice’s inter-ministerial team and took part in writing the Palmor Report for the Eradiation of Racism, and she is also a member of the “Think Tank Forum for the Struggle Against Racism”.
Shlomit also acquired experience in working in the Knesset when she served as the parliamentary advisor for the head of the opposition, Knesset Member Yitzchak Herzog.
